Well constructed with a durable metal case and standard camera-style screw socket to attach to a suitable bracket.
I bought one to use as an external IR illuminator for an IP camera.
It provides a good field of illumination with the bog-standard cheap IP cam.
As noted it needs a 12v 500mA power supply. But these are pretty standard items - the cheapest compatible one I found was for a Netgear Router (1000mA 12v supply under £5 inc postage).

I was very impressed when i fired this up tonight as i can now see right to the bottom of the garden (19 mtrs).
At this price ill probably get another 3 and fix them at wider angles to each other for wide coverage.
A great addition to the ipcam i brought just a few days ago from Amazon

I couldnt wait for the power supply so i had to take the lid off to check polarity so i could use one i had lying around but this will probably invalidate any warranty.
CENTRE PIN POSITIVE so you dont need to take the lid off yours, as a point could the supplier state this on the label placed on the back?
Very happy with purchase and delivered in a shockingly fast time.

I purchased this for use with my modded web cam "i removed the INFRA RED FILTER (square piece of redish glass) from behind the camera lens" allowing to record in night vision straight to my pc and it is perfect for what i need. Luckily i scrolled down the page when finding out the product information because it does NOT include the power plug (NOT STATED). As you may notice it shows in the customers also purchased this part: "Power Supply +12Volts 500mA for CCTV Lamps" <<<(COPY AND PASTE) And so i brought this and it works absolutley fine. ARRIVED PROMPTLY CARRIED BY ROYAL MAIL TOO.
