I have read many, many books but can honestly say I have never come across anything quite like 45. The ideas and the concept of the piece are completely original; 45 interviews, each accompanied by a different artist's illustration.
The piece is well thought out, a great story and (excuse the cliche) a feast for the eyes - I'm tempted to buy another copy just to be able to use the artwork in a giant wall collage!

Although I am not a big reader of graphic novels I was pleasantly suprised when I discovered that I enjoyed the book from cover to cover. The characters are fascinating and I found that I wanted to learn more about them after each was interviewed. The final interview concluded the book cleverly, and although I was dissapointed to reach the end I thoroughly enjoyed the additional material (alternative artworks, sketches, a note from the author etc).

I look forward to more from Andi Ewington, hopefully in the near future.

I personally did not enjoy the art style which is why I gave it four stars. I am a bit traditional in the comic book area and I like my panels, but do not let you put you off purchasing it. It is a very reasonable price, which is initially why I bought it and the concept is very interesting. It is very 'text' dominant, there is much more to read than see. The story is very good.

Loved this more unusual take on the superhero genre. Bought because I'm a comic book fan, but not usually the typical superhero comics. This is different, it's more about people (that happen to be part of a world where supers exist) The interview format lends it a feeling of realism and veracity and the accompanying artworks are superb, with the bonus of some of my favourite artists thrown in.

Great concept, well executed and a great opportunity to see artists make their mark in a single page. Some do better than others but at least the next nugget isn't far off!

In the vein of world war z, 45 is a series of transcripts of interviews between journalist James Stanley and 45 superheroes from around the world, as well as retired supers, families and other characters. The 45 pieces of unique artwork that accompanies each transcript are brilliant. Well worth a read and excellent value for money

A relevant comic for both the hardcore comic fan as well as the casual reader. Deep stories, great concepts and immaculate artwork from some super talented artists make this a serious buy.
