Having bought this track in response to the recommendation of a friend and uploaded it onto my Ipod, upon trying to play it I was rather bewildered to find that I could not hear any sounds coming out of my headphones. Well, imagine my surprise! Fearing the worst, I soon ended up going down to the Apple shop, where I asked them to investigate why the expensive contraption that I had purchased from them was putting out nothing but silence.

Well, you'll never guess what they told me! Yes, that's right, I said that you'll never guess what they told me! No, look buddy, I am telling you that you are NOT going to guess what they told me! What they told me was that my Ipod was indeed completely broken (after all, had it been working I would have been able to hear the ambient background noises that Cage's musical premise hinges upon). They then informed me that it would cost me over a hundred notes to get the damn thing fixed- seeing as the crappy warranty had expired three days earlier. The fact that this eventuality served to liberate this story from the necessity of ending with a woefully predictable and uninspired punchline, is all very well. But still, what a bloody great rip off those Apple shops are!!!

This single is, in a word, amazing. It fuses old-school fury of Megadeth, the melodic precision of Iron Maiden, and the songwriting skills of Korn into one accessible, yet altogether heavy, single. Don't let the influence of Pete Doherty put you off, it sounds nothing like him, but it does incorporate his cleverness into its sound.

Unfortunately there is some background noise which you can hear over and above the excellent artists, which spoils it somewhat. A poor intro, but an excellent piece; and professionally performed. The ending is delightful, although a little loud compared to the rest of the track.

In conclusion, this album receives 5 stars from me. It was near perfect, with a few things to be tweaked here and there, but, also considering the unusual members of the group, this is a masterpiece of history.

Personally, I prefer the original of this song for it's simplicity, but this release is perfect for Christmas. Buy it now.

Horray! 15 Jan 2011
Was anyone else annoyed by the ridiculous cheering at the end of this? "Horray! We managed to stay quiet for over four minutes!* Take that Cowell!" Why did they even need to be there? What a bunch of self-congratulating tools. Ruined it all for me. Lame in the extreme.

*They didn't really did they. Cough Cough.

Silence is Golden
I bought this in an attempt to get it to the number one spot in the UK chart, it may only be 4 minutes and 33 seconds of silence but the general idea behind it, is brilliant!
