This edition is the English version. I don't know why someone has reviewed the Swedish translation here since the shortcomings in that edition seem to be down to translation rather than the technical content.

The English version has served me well since I bought my first 9000 12 years ago and I'm still using my second copy (I wore the first one out). I have based many of the procedures on www.saab9000.com on work done using Haynes as a guide.

The mechanical procedures are very good. Electrical information is not as accurate as it could be as Haynes tries to use one set of diagrams to cover all models and years but it is usable. Some of the more complex systems are glossed over but to be honest, most owners (including me) would take the car to be diganosed electronically when faced with, say, an ABS warning light as it's the easiest and most accurate way to diagnose the cause.

I'm happy with my Haynes manual which is just as well as it's the only DIY manual in print for the 9000.

3.0 out of 5 stars You will buy this book 19 Aug 2008
By richardf8 - Published on Amazon.com
Of course you will. You have no choice in the matter. The original Saab manuals are long out of print and rare as hen's teeth. So you will buy it, and you will join the legion of Saab 9000 enthusiasts who affectionately call it "the book of lies."

You will supplement your purchase with an Alldata subscription, because really, you will want accurate wiring diagrams and component placements.

You will become a denizen of www.saabscene.com because the wealth of experience there will let you know when the book is true and when the book is false.

And with all those things, you should be able to get many miles of driving pleasure from your 9000.

But don't think for a moment that you can rely on the book alone.

3.0 out of 5 stars Haynes Saab 9000 Service Manual 23 Feb 2006

This manual is typical Haynes with poor quality paper and hard to see detail in photographs. It is unfortunately one of the few such manuals available for this car and other foreign cars.

4.0 out of 5 stars For your basic mechanic 18 May 2011

Great for quick little simple tune up procedures. Don't expect wiring, vacuum, or emissions schematics in legible charts. Just enough for a general idea. If you need specific torques ect, buy yourself the factory service manuals. Still handy to have around for a quick reference, on a budget or don't plan on having the vehicle long.
