I have had inline touch dimmers before, which were great when they worked. After a string of failures however, I gave these a try. They are easier to fit and so far pretty reliable (though my wife dropped a book on one and the internal fuse blew), though they won't dim below about 30% (light just goes off). They work with small 25W table lamps, which is below the stated power range.
They're reasonably priced and easy to fit, and they more or less work.

Slightly plasticky feel. Nice glow from the dimmer when the light is off. Instructions incomprehensible but simple to fit.

I looked in shops for this dimmer switch without any success.Saw it on Amazon,the one i had for 10yrs had stopped working.Ordered on Tues and got it on Thurs. So simple to wire up and works a treat.I can recommend this as it is very good
