Again another fantastic quadcopter from syma.Very easy to fly indoor and outside.Outside it becomes its own because of the great stability and more open space.Fantastic in your garden if you have space which i have quite a lot because i own a field next door to me , so i have all the room to fly my many helicopters and quadcopters and aircrafts from. Please note this quadcopter can fly in a wind no problem in a 12 mph wind.I have a friend who flow the spacecraft version of this similar to the bee in a 25 mph wind from a local slope site that flys gliders from and says it was fun to watch it fly better than many of the gliders that fly from this site.So there you have it fantastic quad all in one.Mine came straight out of the box with no trimming at all and was in the air in seconds flying around.Just make sure you have a couple of batteries spares should get at least 9 minutes steady flying from 1 charge easy.As for spares from this plenty around in china or better still get another one for spares at that price you can not go wrong.Any field charger will charge the batteries out there so no problem there. As for crashes no problem it just bounces off any surface should not have any damage there. If you do get into trouble with it just let go of the sticks it will fall down straight with no damage.I like experiment with radio control stuff i also design many stuff from cars to boats to helicopters to quads to aircraft etc etc .Scratch built and modification to many items already bought and my own design for over 48 years. So i know what i am talking about about this fantastic quadcopter.I could talk all night about this but then i would spoil your enjoyment not buying one to find this out yourself. And at that price you can not go wrong.Happy flying and good luck.

I have to say I wasn't expecting much from this, but I have been surprised and impressed! It's easy to control, after the first few flights I can now fly it around my relatively small living room, and can even use the flip function (it drops a few feet, so needs to be about head height before trying this). I've crashed it plenty of times, and so far there are no signs of any real damage. You can get about 10 minutes of solid flying time with a full charge, which I've found takes about 45 mins.

On the negative side, some of the solder joints are shocking, but this hasn't caused any issues so far, and should be easily repairable if they do. The bee shell looks pretty childish, but I took it off and fly without it. The transmitter isn't the best quality, but fair enough for the price.

All in all, a great buy, would definitely recommend. Fast delivery from this seller too.

If you're into radio controlled helicopters then the X1 is a no brainer, it's more fun than anyone can rightfully expect to have for less than £30. I first got one in October for my brother's birthday present, and for the first few days we flew it around the kitchen and living room. The thing is, unlike the S107G, once you've got the hang of it it's really meant to be flown outside. When you take it outside you'll realise its real value. Because it's RF instead of Infrared the range on it is huge, somewhere near 70 metres, and it's really stable in low winds as well.

The controls take some getting used to. My brother is a pro with it now, but I'm still getting the hang of it. Thankfully it's very well built. The arms are made of carbon fibre and whilst it's been crashed hundreds of times (sometimes from quite high up) there is no signs of any serious damage yet. The battery lasts about 8 or 9 minutes before it needs recharging, so if you're wanting to take it down to your local playing fields or whatever I would recommend getting some spare batteries. I got mine from banggood.com for about £2.50 each.

I can't recommend this toy enough, so much so that I've now bought one for myself as well. Just amazing.

Edit: It's worth mentioning that mobile phone masts really hinder the range of flight. On 2 fields I've taken this to there are mobile masts in the vicinity (ie within 100-200 metres) and the flight distance is reduced to somewhere near 20 metres. On another field with no mast in sight (can barely get a H signal on my phone) the range is massive, about 100 metres. I wasn't aware that mobile masts transmitted anything near 2400mhz but there is a definite correlation between proximity to a mast and flight range. The further away the better!

Just received the Syma X1, and noticed that one of the motors is stiff, so doesn't turn at the same rate as the others, so it's uncontrollable at the moment. However, at £9.99 I've just purchased another one to use as spares if I need them.
This uses the same motors and propellers as the Syma X5C, and looks like the same controller as well, although I've not tried the controller with my X5C or X5C-1 yet.
Luckily I've got some spare motors that I bought for the X5C, so I'll fit one of them and it'll be just great. The other motors seem very lively so I'm sure it'll go like a rocket once it's up and running.
The propellers are in the same positions as on the X5C, but being a lot lighter, I reckon it will be a lot quicker and agile than the X5C.

Update: Just swapped the stiff motor with one of my spares for the X5C, and it's flying nicely now.
I find the pitch and roll responses have a bit of a lag when compared to the X5C, but the throttle and rotation are very responsive. They probably had to put limits on the pitch and roll to stop you going too fast, because it's very light and must have the same power as the X5C.

I had thoughts about fitting an X5C receiver board into this since the boards are the same size, and I've got a couple of them in the house. I think there are a whole host of mods you could try on this.

I'm now flying without the UFO shell on, because there is a clear plastic cover over the receiver board anyway, and it looks more interesting like that, plus you can see the LED a lot easier.

I flew it outside this afternoon, but it was very windy, and it was still just about controllable.

You can't go wrong at this price. Buying the individual parts would add up to a lot more.
