Product Description

Product Description

3M CraftMount is the ideal craft adhesive for use at home, school or college to help you achieve stunning results with your decorative arts and crafts. It’s a great choice when working with paper, card, fabric and foil, and will stick these and other light materials securely onto wood, ceramics, glass or metal.

Keep a can of 3M CraftMount to hand at home or in the classroom. It’s the ideal solution for arranging artwork or projects in a portfolio or on a wall display, and would be indispensable for detailed, long term projects like building a dolls’ house. It can even be used to securely attach labels onto plastic posting bags!

3M CraftMount is really easy to use, and mess-free. The can emits a fine spray of adhesive that coats evenly without over-gluing – no lumps, wrinkling or seepage. It dries quickly to form a permanent bond, but will allow some time after the initial application for you to remove and reposition the item if need be. The result is a high quality, professional finish and no sticky brushes, bottles or pots to clean up!

One 200ml can gives coverage of up to 4m². If you are looking for a less permanent craft adhesive, try 3M CraftMount Repositionable Adhesive.

IMPORTANT: use in a well-ventilated area and read directions on packaging before use.

3M and CraftMount are trademarks of 3M Company.

A classic of the graphic design industry, 3M permanent spray mount allows you a bit of time to reposition the artwork and then comes gradually unstuck over a period of time. Everyone in graphic design knows this, so it's more a feature of the adhesive than a draw back. If you're not a designer, and are looking for something really permanent, this may not do the job.

I have two more things to say if you're considering buying this for the first time, rather than just replacing a can you already have.

First, take elaborate pains to cover everything in the vicinity, and never spray over carpet, no matter how much newspaper you have down. Our designer once spray mounted a quantity of A0s in our new office. He put down about 8x the area in newspaper, and we thought it would be fine. Over the years that followed, an ever more visible window of clean carpet surround by dirty carpet appeared, as the area beyond the newspaper attracted dirt which then couldn't be shifted by the cleaner. If possible spray in a box surrounded by hard surfaces which really can be got clean.

Second, if you're mounting paper to board (for example) the board will start to bend within 12 hours. This is normal, because the spray mount contracts as it hardens. The solution is to spray mount a blank piece of the same paper onto the other side of the board. I never knew this until a craftsman explained it to me.

I have been making personalized cards for many years. I'm happy to say that these are often kept far longer than an ordinary greeting card. This is why it is necessary for me to use a muontant that is equal to the task. I have tried a number of different spray products over the years but 3M Craft Mount has proved to be the most reliable.
If you buy it, remember always use it out of doors or in a special chamber!

I have been using 3M sprays for some considerable time now and therefore know how good they are. I recently ran out and went to buy some on the high street. I was surprised at the asking price and stupidly went for a cheaper yet well known suppliers own brand; it was rubbish, spraying messy thick gloop everywhere which for paper work was hopeless. I therefore went to Amazon to source the real stuff and found these really good deals. A very fast delivery meant that I was up and running again with the only product worth buying; superior in every way. A class act and, for the serious crafter/artist etc it sometimes pays to buy the best if you want the best results. Highly recommended.

It does what it says on the can,
A little more sticky than expected.
Great for sticking paper to foam.

I used it to put acoustic tiles on the edit suite door and ceiling and most of them fell off a few hours later.
It's a fine adhesive mist that gets all over you as you apply it, and it runs out really fast.

So, I bought a huge can of much cheaper stuff, which comes out in a manageable stringy jet and that worked really really well. This one: B004JIYD16

Most certainly does as it says on the tin! I used on glitter glasses and laid a few coats in between glitter. Thankfully I used gloves and sprayed outdoors otherwise I may have been stuck to the glass and blown away by fumes. I would most definitely recommend to anyone looking for an adhesive. It's very strong and was perfect for the job I had in mind.

Very adhesive. Ensure that you lay down a lot of paper around surrounding mounting area as adhesive tends to go everywhere

This glue worked well but you do have to be careful as it does end up drifting onto surrounding surfaces and it smells very strong. Strongly advise using it outside if possible.
