I recently purchaes 3ds max version 6 and decided to purchase a book to help me learn the product.
This book upon reccomendation from this site looked appropriate, however using it wasa different thing altogether.
I am a complete beginner in using this product and all this book did was completely confuse me.
The exercises were missing steps to follow, and left me confused and frustrated- example page 47-48 exercise 3.3 step 2 does not produce the editable spine in the modifier list.

Purchased this book after several recommendations but was a little sceptical after reading the existing Amazon reviews - However I have been very pleased with the book so far: Easy to follow, well laid out and has a good overall structure.

I am a beginner with 3DS Max, but the book has not left me feeling "confused and frustrated" as per Carloff's remarks in his review. The example on P47-48 (3.3) worked fine with me, following the instructions step by step.

Patience and time is required (as with learning anything that is new), but anyone dedicated to building a strong foundation from which to master 3DS Max will find this a very useful read.
