2.0 out of 5 stars I'm dissapointed 7 Feb 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Probably I was aiming too high but this book was more about from "whom to buy a 3D printer" than really "how to build one". It is a start but I was expecting a more "hands on" approach.

I was thinking about buying the printrbot Simple and this book seem to have some information about it. I bought this book and found a lot of information about the Simple. It assist you on the assembly of the printer and on setup of software. After setup he, guides you threw the software to dwaw and setup to print your frist project. He does go over different CAD programs to draw different objects. I did purchase the Simple, I had the frist project ready to pring before I received the printer. The Simple did have some new modifications which the book did not cover. The book was very informative about all aspects of 3D printing

3.0 out of 5 stars 3D printer book fall short of its goal 16 Feb 2014
By Denzil Thomas - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
For the past few years I have become fascinated with the 3D printing concept and its great possibilities in creating objects. I was not aware that the parts to build a 3D printer has become available and relatively affordable. So, me not one to shy away from a challenge and having a technical background has started a quest to build a 3D printer. I have being doing research online and was not able to find anything that did not have a hook to it. So I decided to get a book on building a 3D printer. This book I saw on Amazon seems to be just the one I was looking for. However when I started reading it I saw that it did not go into any technical details. It does however points you in the right direction so far as parts you will need and some software you can use to get the job done.
