Book Description

They came from the hills of Tennessee and the bayou of Louisiana. They came with long guns and dreams, and called themselves Texans. They fought to get there.
They fought to stay. Now, they would fight to the death.
With names like Crockett, Houston and Bowie, they fought and clawed their way to an adobe-walled fortress called the Alamo. There, the small army of Independence stood in the way of Santa Anna's best troops. Outnumbered forty-to-one, they came to the Alamo to die, and their fight would live forever...

Robert Vaughn master Western storyteller, tells the ultimate American frontier epic, the saga of the men and women whose destinies met at the Alamo, and the courage that shaped a legend and a land.

5.0 out of 5 stars Texas Glory, a rip roaring read 27 Jan. 2014

Texas Glory by Robert Vaughan was an enjoyable and interesting read. It follows the events building up to and including the Battle of the Alamo, and is both a well told rip roaring western and historical novel, full of historical detail and flavor.

Loved this book, The Alamo and a love story all rolled into one. Although the author has added fiction as regards the storyline to this book he has still kept to historical fact, I have probably watched or read everything I can find on this subject and enjoyed this version, will check other titles by this author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Remember the Alamo 17 Mar. 2014

A good novel about the saga of the defence of the Alamo by the Texans. A book that reads well in the action scenes but other parts did not read so well. But still recommended.
