Initial product was dead in the box, but Amazon changed it with no quibble, and the replacement arrived next day, and Amazon have confirmed receipt of the faulty unit.

Regarding the psu. As its a modular unit, it was very easy to fit, you only use the cables that you need, so any redundancies are left out of the case, thus helping to improve air flow.

I have an Antec 900 case, which has a clear side, so the psu and cabling looks good through the side window.

Performance wise, the system has never shut down unexpectantly since fitting this product, which used to happen under the old psu. Whether this is down to an increase in wattage, 700 to 850, or simply being a higher quality product I am not sure, and am not professionally qualified to comment, but I suspect the latter.

But I would most definately give Amazon 5 stars for how they handled the initial problem and supplying the replacement and 5 stars for Corsair, for what is clearly a well thought out and superior performing product.

This is one of the best PSUs on the market today. It's very quiet, gold rated; therefore there isn't as much energy wasted; saving you money. It's also fully modular. This means that you can just use the connections that you need. No more wires/cables lying around in your case; thus improving the airflow. The cables aren't as long as I'd like them to be, having a full tower case (nzxt phantom), the ATX12V cable was just long enough for me to run it at the back of the case (but it was shorter then the one on my old corsair tx750). If you're using a larger case then the phantom, such as the HAF X you might have an issue with the length. Apart from that its a great product. Oh, and you also get 7 years warranty - which is great if you're planning on keeping it for that long. Still, it shows how confident corsair is about this psu.

This is my 2nd Corsair PSU so there were no surprises with the high quality of the whole package. The PSU itself is heavy and solid and came in a woven drawstring anti-static bag with the Corsair logo on it. The seperate cables (this is a fully modular system) are in a heavy, velcro-sealed bag, again with the Corsair logo. The Cables themselves have a flexible woven protective outer cover, with all but the main power cable having a flattened (oval) profile to allow for easier cable routing. In with the cables are plenty of cable ties, matt black mounting screws and a classy-looking Corsair case sticker. With both my Corsair PSUs (the first was the discontinued 400W model) I really felt that I was getting my money's worth.

I have to say it's quiet because it's in a Define R3 case and all I can hear (barely) is my GPU fan. Fitting and cable routing in this case was a breeze, although the cable for the EATX 12V connector on the Asus P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3 motherboard was about 1 cm too short to be routed behind the mobo plate. Still, a single cable running across the front of the mobo isn't a big deal and won't impact airflow.

I can only think of one very slight criticism and that is that labelling of all connectors would be nice. This is my first modular PSU and seeing all those loose cables was worrying at first. However, the power and PCI-e connectors are labelled and it then becomes apparent where the rest of the cables fit, so didn't cause any problems.

Of course, there's all the techy stuff about component TDP and the +12V rail (and other rails) but hopefully you've already researched this before looking at PSU options. Suffice it to say that this PSU will give you all the headroom you need even for a gaming system, even with SLI/Crossfire of all but the most power-hungry cards.

Good power supply, with good opportunities. For demanding users. Calmly can do the trick with several hard disks connected, the two graphics cards, a few fans. A well-made, matte black in color. Ideally suited for corporate computer case Crosair. I use it more than six months, and everything is o'k.

This power supply is excellent. There are many reviews about the power supplies in this range from Corsair (the range is built by Seasonic). The range comes with a 7 year warranty; so you know Corsair are confident with the quality. The power supply is stable and has taken anything I have thrown at it. Under low loads the power supply's fan doesn't even spin (you do have to have good air flow in the case just to be safe). When it does it isn't annoying like some fans. There are a range of cables that come with this so you can have plenty of devices connected. A great power supply that does everything and more you expect a power supply to do. Well worth the money in my opinion.

It's no secret this is a rebranded Seasonic X850, the good thing about Corsair is that they offer 7 instead of 5 years warranty. I simply bought the AX850 as it was also a lot easier to source here in Europe compared to Seasonic. You see my old OCZ PSU finally gave up one night when a loud bang and lots of smoke came out. Woke up just to open the window and I went to bed again. In the morning after long search, trying to figure what I need, I decided to go fully modular for the same reason everybody want....better cable management. My first impression was the matt color with golden logo, looks very slick and matches my Antec1200 case. When I started plugging the cables I was worried it may not reach my motherboard, but soon I found out that all cables are extra long so no trouble there. Keep in mind the cables are quiet stiff from the sleeves. After I plugged only the stuff I needed I wasn't very pleased. To be honest in a normal PSU all cables come from one single hole on the side with all cabled tied up. With this PSU each cable plugs in the entire panel of the PSU making it look less neat. This is something everybody should seriously consider if they really want such design to make there case look cableless. On the performance side I have zero complaints. It's perfect, it's powerful, it's 100% made in Japan and I'm looking to never replace a PSU for the next 7 years.
