Too often daily prayers centre on self. This book takes a daily bible reading and shows how it relates to the reader but links it to the needs of others and how, in some small way one can practically help to bring about God's kingdom on earth. It makes you think

This is a great book. The readings aren't long but there's plenty to think about. I wanted something for my daily readings/devotional that wasn't just going to be the usual self absorbed stuff that would encourage me to dwell on every tiny detail of my own life (i.e. usual Christian devotionals) but something that would encourage me to look at those in the world with much tougher lives than mine. This book does that well and bringing a positive and prayerful attitude to the worlds poor and disadvantaged and encourages the reader in their own walk with God too. A super book and well worth buying.

A brilliant set of daily Bible readings with challenging notes about current needs in the world such as trade justice, exploitation and not treating others fairly. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to make a difference in the world.
