Product Description

Review

'He's a one-man 'ideas factory' whose new book suggests some whacky ways in which, with a little bit of effort, people really can change the world for the better.' --GUARDIAN

'If you want to make a difference then I can do no better than to recommend this book.' --DAILY TELEGRAPH

'The ultimate answer for anyone who has ever asked "how can I make a difference?", this ingenious handbook shows how the smallest actions can impact on your local community and the wider world. Packed with ideas, and facts from leading campaign organisations, it suggests one action for every day of the year...it's a great antidote to the cynicism of the chattering classes.' --THE WHO CARES? TRUST

'Easy ways to save the world, from naked cycling to making your own cola. Can one person really make a difference in a year? The answer, says Michael Norton, is a resounding 'Yes'. The ex-banker turned environmental campaigner tells how...'
--SUNDAY MIRROR

Product Description

A call to action, as well as an irreverent practical guide, this ingenious handbook is also an almanac, a reference book, a careers guide, a good gift and - above all - an eye opener.

As the title suggests, there is an idea for each day of the year on how we can make a difference to the wider world, smaller commmunities we live in or just our own lives. The ideas vary greatly and are catergorised by themes, such as "culture and creativity", "discrimination", "environment" or "health". I have often found myself amazed at the ideas and information offered, yet the vast majority feel very achieveable... such as be a helpline volunteer, hold a street party or become a virtual volunteer. There is no intimidating amount of text to read, either. A fantastic resource.

a 'desk-side' diary 10 Jun 2010
By M. J. Robinson TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
Fun and informative and makes the desk-driven day a little more exciting. Much better than one of those diaries with famous quotations (though I love those too). This is more practical. And if you don't believe in the cause for a particular day - if you share with colleagues ... who knows who will have a passion for the 'revolution of the day'! Amusing, a talking point and bound to get you out of mundane thoughts ... every office desk should have a copy I say. This book can stimulate some amazing conversations and no doubt some truly revolutionary thought and actions.

Get a copy! It's imperative for your desk sanity!
