Product Description

Ever wondered what Santa gets up to the rest of the year?

You’ll wish you hadn’t!

For 364 days of the year Santa has bugger all to do.

The elves do all the manual labour and these days he orders all the presents online. All he has to do is deliver them.

So, for the rest of the time he is bored out of his tiny mind.

Dave Cornmell’s brilliant and inspired comic strip is an irreverent and incredibly rude look at Santa’s real life featuring an hilarious cast of characters including Mrs Claus, the elves, reindeer, a variety of arctic wildlife, Santa’s bath toys and some maggots.

Find our where Santa goes on holiday, what he does with his bin bags, what he watches on telly, how he copes when his wife goes away and whether or not the rumours are true about him and Vixen.

Whatever your idealised image of Santa may be, the truth is that he’s just a bored fat bloke who hates his job. Get used to it.

Don't see the humour 18 Jun 2011

I've reread the other reviews and can't relate them to this book. I couldn't find anything even mildly amusing. Certainly nothing to counteract the nuisance of trying to download such a large file.

This is the kind of book I would expect to find in the lavatory at my uncle's house. This statement is not intended to do the book a disservice, quite the opposite. (Although I did once find a copy of Being Jordan in there, but the less said about that the better.) As a general rule, books found in my uncle's lavatory should be easy to dip into, amusing and immediately gratifying. Nothing to testing here, please. (Perhaps Katie Price's tome was not so out of place after all?) My uncle is an intelligent man, who reads widely, but when he is ensconced on his throne, he likes a chuckle. To give you a sense, the kind of reading matter you're likely to find in there is back issues of Private Eye, a Viz annual, something by Spike Milligan and maybe a Monty Python script or two. If any of this sounds up your street, or up the street of the uncle you are trying to find a Christmas present for, I suggest hitting the 'add to basket' button about now.

It's funny 15 Oct 2010

This is an excellent, funny book. The drawings are quirky - Santa looks like a touch like Alexei Sayle. The ideas for the cartoons are great. Anyone who has wasted time, whether in a red suit or not, will empathise strongly with this Santa. A true original.
