Product Description

Product Description

How often have you seen images of London's famous sights that look and feel flat and lifeless? 360[degrees] is a totally new concept, a way of seeing the world in the round. With specially-commissioned pictures taken as if you were at the centre of the scene, you can see all around some of the greatest sites in Britain's capital city, from inside and out. The iconic Houses of Parliament; Soho's nightlife and bustling Smithfield's Market are just some of the scenes that take on a fascinating new perspective. Skyline images contain annotated landmarks to guide you around the panorama; and details from the sites completes the picture, providing an all-encompassing look at London's most famous places. London is the definitive photographic guide to this great city - from every angle.

4.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring, 25 Jan 2004
By
This review is from: 360 Degrees London (Hardcover)
I received this book as a Christmas present, I had seen some of Nick Woods work before and have always been interested in cityscapes and London in particular. The reproduction prints in this book are fantastic quality although presenting them over a double page resulting in some image loss in the centre.

The images are really interesting fantastically composed and have inspired me to try 360° photography for myself as I feel these photographs are a brilliant way of documenting a space. The CD included features each of the panoramas as a QuickTime movie, allowing you to feel as if you are there.

A beautiful coffee table book as every time you look at it you see something different.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Amazing, 5 Dec 2007

This review is from: 360 Degrees London (Hardcover)
I bought this book second hand from Waterstone for £12 and didn't know that you could get it new from Amazon also with free delivery.

I study Multimedia and photography is a big part of my interests. I was introduced to 360 photography and QuickTime VR in my second year and really enjoyed it.

This book has some really stunning visuals and gives a great view of the place I have lived in for the whole of my life. It isn't all clean cut high rise architectural photography, there are also pictures of things and places you may never have seen (such as the cafe where taxi drivers hang out).

This book really has inspired me to take my photography skills further as I have just bought a new Digital SLR and may get my hands on some appropriate equipment. For any photography fan I would definitely recommend this book.
