This is a great book for guidance for anyone, anywhere in an organisation (social or commercial) who wants practical advice from a leadership guru. No hard leadership theories, just structured advice rooted in common sense. Some may find the tone a little soft, but even a casual read will find it hard to dispute the little nuggets of practical wisdom it holds. One thing that sets it apart from other leadership books is the online assessment that you do before you read the book that will help you to focus on specific areas of improvement. Another book that you can refer to year after year, or from situation to situation.

I use The 360 Leader Workbook for a supervisory training workshop in the Federal sector that I conduct - all participants receive copies of the book since I believe that this book is perfect for supervisors/managers to enhance their skills and explore ways to be more effective in the workplace. I also use it for a non-supervisory workshop call Leadership 21 so that employees know that no matter what your position you can influence and add value. Vilma Colon, Transition Matters, Inc.

This is one of the best and most practical books that I've every read on leadership. It one of only a handful of books on leading up (your boss) and leading across (fellow employees). Most books are on leading down (those who report to the boss), but only a very small portion of any organization is in that position.

I recommend this book to employees, peers and bosses. The book gives you steps to achieve what YOU want to more often, and in a positive way. It also can help you clarify what you are and ARE NOT doing well in the way you communicate with people in the work place, on committees, and in other group settings. It will assist you in recognizing influencers in those environments and why they are so inflential.

It's interesting and very educational. It is another tool to add to your skill set, and with a little practice, will serve you very well.
