Weak 19 July 2011

This book is 80% useless. Very few hand-made pictures , all in black&white... A book titled "restoration guide" should have more information. Most things are how to make your own brackets or simple tools to fix minor glitches in the car. I really do not recommend buying it , youll just loose your money! Dont expect any usefull info on how to restore a 356 properly..

Full of bits and pieces 16 Oct 2000

This book is a compilation how-to book. This has several detailed "articles" compiled from the 356 Registry auto club members and magazine editors. This book has very few illustrations (no photos) and really hits on some part/problems you may encounter. Some of the articles are priceless (floor pan restoration, for example). But this is NOT a complete step by step restoration manual for the 356. There certainly may be an article on all areas of the technical and restoration of the classic. I still refer to it first when I have a problem with my 356. But I would love a book with lots of photos and illustrations. I do recommend the book, it is required for a 356 owner. But it is a bit scattered and in some cases has conflicting opinons on some topics of repair.
scattered, incomplete 19 Dec 2011

I realize this is not intended to be a factory manual or a step-by-step guide but what I have found is that more often than not the information I am looking for is not in this book. Maybe you will get lucky and there is an article for a particular job in this book but it cannot serve as your primary resource. I have also found that if you can dig info out of this book it would have been faster and easier to use google.
