i thought this book was fab. it's about an average teenage girl who at the moment had everything she wanted a fab best mate a sexy boyfriend who loves her parents who are't embarrasing (very rare)and the main part in a play but then her mum finds out she has cancer her dad goes awol and she isn't allowed on a bonding session for the plays cast at a concert in cornwall

maybe the other horrid thing wouldn't have happend if she had gone

at the point when she finds out you could really feel the pain that went to her heart.

It should like many teenage books be made into a film

i loved it and could feel for her in some places

it's a perfect book for a beach bag or a rainy day

Daughter (13) had this for her birthday, and once started couldn't put it down, so I read it too. Modern day issues dealt with sensitively and appropriately - affair, illness, superstition, love and romance. A good book for bridging the child to teenager gap; current teenage books seem too way-out for fairly innocent 13-year olds

My daughter loved this. At 11 she thought it was brilliant and is moving on now to read the others in the series. Her school fried recommended it so definitely one for the year 7 age group. Hard to put down.

I'm rather shamefaced to admit this but I do go for cover art. This book was a gift and my initial thoughts were "dumbed-down chick-lit."
However a few chapters in and I was hooked! The characters, especially jess, are so well thought out that they walk off the page and straight into your head. Although I did feel the plot was rather obvious in some instances, I won't spoil it for you don't worry.
I find the entwining of Macbeth a refreshing look at classic literature without the stuffiness. Its perfect escapism and one of the few books I've read I wish I'd written!
I have re-read this book a number of times and still find it highly enjoyable. A great read!

A lovely story of how things can change within a matter of months! With her mums cancer, her dads affair and her boyfriend fooling around with her best friend, 'Lady Macbeth' flights her way through!
