Review
To mark the 75th anniversary of Ford's introduction of the model B - which had the firm's first V8, and became affectionatley known as the Deuce - author Tony Thacker has produced this weighty, informative book. It's split into two parts; the first traces the development of the car and engine, and is packed with historical detail. The second counts down the top-75 Deuce hot rods in full colour, and has some stunning pictures. Five Stars. --Auto Express
This large-format 322 page book celebrates Ford's famous flathead V8 in style. As a former editor of Custom Car, and now executive director of the NHRA museum in Pomona, CA, you can't question British-born Thacker's credentials. In the earlt 80's he wrote his first earlt Ford V8 book for Osprey, and that work provided a basis for this much-expanded edition. The first half covers "Deuce" history from production development through to european specialsa and early american hot rod culture. In contratst, the second half spotlights the most signifignat '32 hot rods as nominated for the Grand National Roadster Show....it's handsome and features some wonderful early photos, including British coachbuilt V8's and evocative trail shots. --Classic Cars
The book is an easy read and period photos add to the story. But that's only half of the book. Yhe rest is dedicated to the 75 most significant Ford hot rods --Arizona republic
