Book Description

24 April 2012 Vampire Tales
The Final Reckoning

Laura Caxton's battles against the ancient vampire Justinia Malvern have cost her nearly everything—her badge, her freedom, her friends and family . . . maybe even her humanity.

And as she hides out in the deepest backwoods of Pennsylvania, pursued by the cops who were once her colleagues, Laura certainly looks beaten. But as Laura sees it, what little is left of her soul is perfectly adapted to the job of ridding the world of its last vampire. And thanks to the terrible clarity she's found, Laura's come up with a plan—one that will finish Malvern once and for all.

But the ever-wily Malvern has a few last aces left to play and is quietly dealing a hand that will involve a terrible fate for the few friends Laura's got left. When the two adversaries meet for the last time in their most epic battle, the vampires will force Laura to pay a price far beyond anything she's sacrificed before.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great ending to a fantastic series 28 April 2012

I wouldn't have guessed that in 2008 a visit to the local library to check out some books with my young daughter would forever change my life as far as reading was concerned. Originally there to check out a few children's books I browsed the fiction isle and a lil booked named 13 Bullets stood out to me. The cover looked cool so did the description on the back so I figured I'd give it a shot. Years later I was obsessed with Laura Caxton's story and how it would concluded.

Mr. Wellington really delivered in this last volume of the series that gives us the final showdown between Vampire Hunter Laura Caxton and a vicious yet ever so plotting villain Justinia Malvern. We're given multiple points of views in 32 Fangs most interestingly we're shown how Malvern was created and how she lasted throughout history up until this point. Since its no spoiler because its in the title this is the final vampire tale in this series It's be a great journey here and there's no doubt I'll re read every book in the series.

Saddens me a little that it's come to and end, even though the book did a great job of showing closure and not just leaving us hanging wondering whats next. The action scenes while not as much as the other books are still very nasty in their own right and had me on the edge of my seat, which is a good thing because there is also a lot of story here as well. Mr. Wellington thank you so much for making such a great series of vampire books that aren't afraid to make them vicious killing machines and not sparkling emo teenagers that seems to show up everywhere these days. While I know this is the end I really wish this story could still continue in some way. Great read and perfect ending to a great series. Well done.

5.0 out of 5 stars The End: 30 April 2012

When i first starting reading 13 Bullets, i knew i was reading something special. I continued to read the rest of the series, each book drawing me further into the world of Laura Caxton. With Wellingtons final entry into the series, he brings closure. 32 Fangs, while not as intense as the other novels, still brings surprises as well as heartache. The book helps the reader learn more about Justina Malvern and why she is even more evil then the reader would ever know.

I was afraid that i would be let down at the end of this book. I did not want it to end, i thought there would be questions left unanswered or a new evil would arise from the tale. I was actually surprised when Wellington left his readers with the perfect ending.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Ending to a Great Series 4 May 2012
By Tim Miller - Published on Amazon.com

It was a few years ago when I stumbled upon 13 Bullets at a Barnes and Noble while waiting on my daughter in the children's section. I must have read half the book before I even paid for it. I took it home along with 99 Coffins and Vampire Zero. I read them in rapid succession unable to get enough. They were so unlike any other vampire story I had ever read. While the market has been flooded with sparkling, emo vampires who get love sick over teenage girls or human girls or whatever. These vampires were vicious creatures who lived for one thing and one thing only and that is blood, and they weren't too polite about how they got it. No human, wannabe vampire blood donors. Here they would rip their victims to pieces and drink the blood from the stumps.

So after being hooked on this series, and after what seemed like a long wait, I was finally able to download 32 Fangs. While the story isn't as fast paced as the the other books, it is still very well done. It starts off slow, but gradually builds to the final showdown between Caxton and Malvern. Wellington does a great job tying up loose ends. And as others have mentioned in other reviews, he does a good job closing out the series leaving nothing hanging or anything weird popping up at the end or leaving any questions unanswered.

As I read the final few pages, including the epilogue, I almost felt like I was going to cry. Reading about Laura Caxton and all the struggles, hardship and loss she'd suffered in all the other books, she came to be a character I'd grown attached to. So to finally say goodbye to this amazing character was almost saddening, yet I was satisfied with how things ended.

I definitely recommend this series to anyone who enjoys vampire fiction, or any horror fan for that matter. Wellington's writing is faced paced, description of places and events puts you right there at the scene of the action, and character development puts you right inside each person's head, feeling the impact of every thing that happens. This series will be missed for sure.
