Product Description

When an SAS unit in Afghanistan is attacked, the sister of its Captain, Jill Mandelson (Heather Peace), embarks on a dangerous quest to uncover what went wrong. Suspecting the units position was given up in order to secure the UK a massive arms deal, Mandelson must prove the deception runs right to the top. In desperation, she kidnaps top government spin-doctor, Sarah Webber (Marina Sirtis Star Trek, Crash), hoping to use a TV confession to illicit the truth. But just how far does the corruption reach? Could even the Prime Minister (John Rhys-Davies - Lord of the Rings) be involved? Mandelson is about to discover that when you accuse a country of willingly killing its heroes, all bets are off. Also starring Craig Fairbrass (Rise of the Footsoldier), 31 North 62 East is a thrilling mix of James Bond intrigue and Spooks style subterfuge and offers a chilling insight into just how far politicians are willing to go to stay on top.

2.0 out of 5 stars Would make an excellent novel but.... 17 April 2013

this isn't a good film by any stretch of the imagination. Heather Peace is excellent and deserves a higher profile. The story itself is the stuff thrillers are made of; it's a twisting affair about the British Prime Minister selling out an Army unit for the sake of a billion pound arms deal and the subsequent efforts to uncover the truth of it all. Sadly, a decent screenplay doesn't make a decent film. There's some really shoddy acting going on too, John Rhys-Davies is especially poor but he's not the only one. I followed this movie from post production to release via the official website and I really wanted to like it but apart from a fine story and a decent performance from the lead there isn't much more to shout about.

1.0 out of 5 stars Only one good location for this DVD... 23 Sep 2010

Terrible. Terrible, terrible, terrible.
Like a very bad ITV2 Drama.
Poorly acted, bad script, bad story, all done on the cheap.
I don't mind a low budget, but you've got to back it up with a decent story & decent actors.
This was like watching a poor episode of the Professionals, without the nostalgia, or the presence of Bodie & Doyle. The SAS-team looked like a bunch of guys they picked up in the local pub.
Somebody give Craig Fairbrass a decent script, he's cool & wasted in this.
If you pay more than £1 for this, you've been robbed (just like muggins 'ere)
