About the Author
Lance Parkin has written nine previous novels, including Emmerdale: Mandy's Secret Diary. He is a former storyline writer for Emmerdale and recently wrote the tie-in book to ITV's Soapstars which saw a new family selected for Emmerdale from auditions open to the public. He lives in a Yorkshire village.

After 30 Years it is no wonder that the soap Emmerdale can look forward to another 30 Years. This book gives a rare insight into how it was created, its initial lunchtime slot and how it became a household name in the evenings. With rare photographs, interviews with Producers and backstage personnel the book provides an insight into the behind the scenes process of a great show. 30 Years would not be complete without a review of the great storylines (who remembers Jackie getting killed, who killed Pete Whiteley whilst drink driving or when did the plane crash devastate the village of Beckindale) and a chapter dedicated to Who's Who. The book provides an overview of how the soap has changed through the years from Emmerdale Farm based around Farming to Emmerdale, concentrating on village life, yet retaining its roots with the breaktaking countryside of Yorkshire. For anyone who is a fan this is a must!!

Tjis book gives an in - depth account of village life year by year as well as providing pages on the shows biggest storylines like Kim Tate and Dave Glover`s tragic affair, Frank`s death, The plain crash, and zoe`s mental illness.
