I am in the process of converting my large and treasured library of video cassettes, both purely music and video (some SVHS), to DVD and I have an elaborate set-up of VCR (with editing functions) and DVD recorders all linked to my hi-fi (high quality separates) pre-amplifier. I needed to be able to switch from the the video conversion system to my normal hi-fi system. (This elaborate system would have been unnecessary had Panasonic, or other manufacturers, had the sense to produce a DVD-editing SVHS VCR hard disc player; as it is they all forgot about SVHS once DVDs came onto the scene, completely neglecting those like myself with a large collection of SVHS cassettes. I have the burden of first converting the SVHS tapes to ordinary VHS tapes which I can then use on the DVD-VCR Hard disc recorder.) This long introduction is by way of explaining why I needed an 'audio' switch. A search through Amazon produced this (and some others). I opted for this 3-way model and am most pleased. It does exactly what I wanted, and it is attractively, and unobtrusively, designed. My one slight grouse is that I wished the RCA sockets had been made a little more robustly. In my one they seem to wobble a bit - but that only a minor point: once installed and positioned this is not a problem.
