Those that have enjoued the previous Nouvelle Vague albums will find no surprises here. Still enjoyable but there are no surprises either in songs chosen or styles adopted. In fact the biggest disappointment is the presence of "guest singers" such as Terry Hall on Our Lips Are Sealed......all a bit showbiz.
Still, better than most releases at the moment but please for 4 try some more leftfield songs and arrangements............

I absolutely love Nouvelle Vague and live they were superb, but this album is NV by numbers. I was very disappointed and returned the CD.

It's Good Stuff 15 Oct 2009
By JG - Published on Amazon.com

Nouvelle Vague's self titled debut was great. It combined the best of MBP (Brazilian pop) with hits and not so much hits from the 80s. Great music for lounging by the pool, and you'll hear it in cool hotel lobbies, bars, and occasionally, on a hip radio station.

Their second album somehow just didn't quite measure up, but now, with NV3, they're back with a vengeance.

On NV3, they picked some obvious 80s songs, and some less obvious ones. Their version of Talking Heads' "road to nowhere" is great, and they don't give it a samba or bossa flavor, but instead, a country music treatment.

With a few exceptions, this is a great album. Check out their KCRW appearance online too. Good stuff.
Glad they haven't stopped 18 Jun 2013

I only just found this CD in support of the tour I had already seen them on. More of the great remakes of classic punk/post punk and new wave songs I grew up on.
Top Notch! 4 April 2013

Amassing a collection of Nouvelle Vague, the 3 bonus tracks were what sold me initially on this album. Loving all things Stranglers, a version of Get a Grip Bossa-Nova stylee had to be in my collection. A ska-reggae Ca Plein Pour Moi from Plastic Bertrand took me back to my teenage years (an unexpected gem) and Martin Gore backing up the vocals on Master and Servant, well... I must admit I do want to start singing Personal Jesus when that one starts!

Thanks Movie Mars - product arrived in great condition, no worries.
