Award-winning singer Calogero is the man of the moment in France, following the massive success of his second album released in 2002. His mix of rock numbers and thoughtful ballads has delighted French fans to date. Time for his imaginatively-titled third album then. My only minor criticism, which stopped me from giving it 5 stars, is that he hasn't really moved on musically from his last album. There's one glimmer of progress and diversity on his duet with rapper Passi, "Face A La Mer", the second single released from the album. Criticism over, there are some cracking tracks - the rousing opener and first single "Yalla", the mesmerising "Il Bat" and "Rare"... ok then, I'm biased, I think he's a very talented musician with a great, soaring distinctive voice. Highly recommended, but if you buy this you should also buy its predecessor, "L'album" - both albums are essential for any fans of French music.
