I want to use quality earplugs with my phone but needed to reduce the size of the jack plug. This does just that and doesn't compromise the sound quality.......and it's excellent value too.

This adaptor didn't work from the outset, it had to be twiddled and twisted in the vague hope that I would get a few seconds of audio through one ear.
Since it only costs 1p (a reflection of its true value in my opinion) and the main cost is the postage, it makes it 'not worth the effort' to try to return it. Very clever. Steer well clear. I have now bought a Sony adaptor with gold plated contacts on eBay ireland which works a treat and cost only a little bit more.

While the seller was fair in resolving my order, the adapter itself was terrible. It practically fell apart as I removed it from the packaging,(the 3.5mm socket contact at the base fell out). The 2.5mm plug was also bent out of shape. Hardly 'Premium Quality'. After putting it back together I realised that it was not '18k Goldplated for premium, no-loss sound connection...'. I tested it and was not surprised to find that it didn't work.

The build quality of this adapter is poor; recommend you avoid this one.
