There are several different types of lead like this, used by different manufacturers, and although they look identical the internal connections are different. I found this out the hard way too.
The key thing is which ring on the jack is used as the ground connection. You can easily check this with a multimeter if you already have a working lead.

Well it was a bit of a long shot but this cable worked to connect a Phillips DVD player (that had lost its lead) to a LG flat TV screen. Very happy!

Bought this to use with my multi region DVD Player but it's not compatible. Apparently manufactures wire their components in different sequence. Tried swapping the leads around on the TV as previously suggested but that didn't work. Works ok on my camcorder though so not a total waste of money.

Useful AV plug
As an AV jack it has a good length of cable, and the right angle jack plug is a useful flush fit .

Did not work
did not work . bought them to replace existing lead that one of the audio links did not work . they were playing in mono not stereo but jangle wire and contact made so stereo. Read more
