I ordered 2 cables from this supplier including this item. I couldn't believe the price but you get what you pay for. The cables are incredibly thin and neither worked. This one has a bad conenction to the right channel so you only get the left. Useless. I had waited patiently for 2 weeks while the items were shipped from Hong Kong making the experience doubly painful. I shall order a more expensive replacement.

I bought this cable for connecting my Sansa Clip MP3 player to a Sony amplifier. It does all that I want it to with no trouble. No audible sound distortion either from poor connections of insufficient shielding. The cable is long enough to be useful without being so long as to be annoying. Have also used it to connect Ipods and Creative Zen MP3 players with no troubles. Excellent for the price paid.

I decided to buy the cheapest possible cable as I was unlikely to use it very often. When it arrived I realised that this perhaps unwise, given that I am using it to join two devices that cost several hundred pounds! I ordered two cables (not sure why). One had a nick through one of the cables which had severed the wire inside. The wire inside was probably five very thin strands - not what you need in any audio connection. The sheath on the cable was very thin and did not seem to support the cable well and finally, the connectors on each end were poorly made, ill fitting and had large lumps of plastic flashing left on them. I applied a mild tug to the phono connectors and both came clean off in my hand. Finally, they took over 20 days to arrive! So, after a month or so from purchase to receipt they went straight in the bin without being used. Go for the HQ 2 Metre 3.5mm to 2 x Phono Plugs Gold Metal Cable by Cable Mountain which cost a massive £0.90 and arrive in 48 hours and are reassuringly well made.

Wanted this to connect my phone to the 'AV in' sockets found on many TVs, so I could play the mp3s, in the music player incorporated in the phone, through the speakers in the TVs, in the rooms I was staying in, while backpacking in Thailand.
I can confirm this works on most TVs; just connect either the red or white plug on the cable to the 'audio in' socket on the TV, which may be coloured red or white, (or the TV may have both a red & a white audio socket, if it's a modern stereo TV, in which case connect both red & white plugs).
All TVs also have a socket marked 'video in' which might be yellow in colour. On some brands of TV, this needs a signal on it, before the audio inputs will work. If this is the case, you can sometimes fool the video input into thinking it's getting a signal (thus forcing the audio inputs to work), by plugging the other red or white audio plug on the lead, into this video socket.
You will have to select 'AV' on the remote control for the TV.
The sound quality is usually quite good, & indeed some TVs even have tone controls, so you can adjust the sound quality to your own taste.
You do this at your own risk & I take no responsibility for any damage caused, but I can say it works on lots of TVs & I have yet to blow up my phone, any tellys or myself!!!!

Bought two of these now. First one had faulty connection in one of the channels - I can't be sure that this wasn't due to a recent house move. Second one is fine. Use it to connect hi-fi to Apple Airport Express router and listen to music wirelessly.
