I REMEMBER YESTERDAY - FIVE STARS:
This would certainly be Donna Summer's best album for a decade, until she was to record: 'Another Place And Time' in 1988 which would be produced by 'Stock, Aitken & Waterman'.
This features almost all of her hits from 1977 - including; the title track, 'Love's Unkind' and 'I Feel Love' - all of which were in the top forty at the same time - a remarkable feat indeed! 'I Feel Love' was also pretty ground-breaking stuff back then! Surprisingly though; the only other single from this album: 'Back In Love Again' - despite its catchy powerful love/disco beat, only just made the forty the following year, but then I guess most that liked it would have already purchased the album by then.
This also features the classic that's been covered by many: 'Can't We Just Sit Down (And Talk It Over)', and it's a good rendition. With great artwork too, this classic album almost gave Ms. Summer a chart-topper when it peaked at number three.
NOTE/TRIVIA: It's a puzzle as to why the marketing department never utilised the 12" single format when releasing earlier Donna Summer material. Most of what she did on 7" had an extended version or 'mix' which would appear on her albums, but never as a 12" single - strange... The only 12" single ever issued from this album was 'Back In Love Again', which ironically wasn't extended at all - stranger still...
