Synopsis

Features the film 28 DAYS LATER and its sequel 28 WEEKS LATER. A deadly virus escapes from a research centre and within twenty eight days the entire country is infected with the exception of a few survivors. Together they try to build a future for themselves. 28 WEEKS LATER is set after the blood-thirsty fiends of 28 DAYS LATER are thought to have died out. The American military are slowly bringing British citizens back to London, where a heavily guarded community is picking up the pieces and trying to return to normal life. However, chaos soon returns, with the sadistic military and the forlorn survivors battling both each other and 'the infected'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bluray Quality not bad, 28 days later filmed in DVCam, 17 April 2009
By M. Svoboda - See all my reviews

28 Days later was filmed on DVCam which has a SD resolution of 720x576, directors choice i think. So its no wonder the "feeled" resolution is NOT Full HD (1920x1080). But if you watch the movie to the end the last 10 Minutes were filmed on 35mm and therefore are brilliant full HD BluRay quality. "28 Months Later" is also presented in great Bluray quality. If you like the movies buy this Double-Bluray at this low price. I enjoyed watching them both.

1.0 out of 5 stars This should be rated VHS & not Bluray!, 16 April 2009
By A. J. Wilson (UK) - See all my reviews

As previously stated, the video quality of 28 days later is unbelievably bad! It looks like a very bad rip from a DVD. This spoils an otherwise very good film. Give this one a miss, and if you must buy it get the DVD version, your bluray will upscale and still give you the same quality.

1.0 out of 5 stars Shockingly Dismal, 14 April 2009
By S-Man (Scotland) - See all my reviews
Having watched both of these movies in the cinema and on DVD I was looking forward to the improved colour, contrast, clarity and sound offered by blu ray. How wrong I was. These have to be the worst blu rays I have encountered.

It says 1080p, but it looks like it's just been `zoomed' to bring it up to that resolution. The pictures on both disks are grainy, washed out and often appear out of focus; many of the scenes appear to have the `staircase edges'. Many other reviews I have read online have attributed this to the cheap camera used for filming and that it is part of director Danny Boyle's desired `urban grittiness'. Even with supposed `grittiness', there is no excuse for the horrible picture quality. Even minimal digital editing would have enhanced the colours and removed some of the grain.

The audio is no better. Although the case boasts true DTS HD Master recordings, the sound comes out flat especially when compared to other blu ray DTS-HD audio. It almost sounds mono.

I would wager that when I put in the DVD and upscale it, I will probably end up with a better picture and audio. AVOID THESE BLU RAYS. I'll be trying to return mine and if that fails they'll be up on e-bay.
