Product Description

Focusing exclusively on over 1,000 musical endeavours shared between over 300 artists, this updated continuation of the critically acclaimed "Beatles Undercover" contains new chapters, previously unpublished interviews, and exclusive first-hand information on the Fab Four from the artists who knew them best. An exhaustively researched, highly detailed discography of the Beatles musical contributions is also included, giving a clear look into their songwriting and recording processes. By Sir Ron
Format:Paperback
I appreciate that I have some personal interest in this book in the sense that the Author has been a personal friend for some 30 years and I was able to provide some information that helped with the book. This is the second updated edition of what by any standards is a significant and scholarly work which has enormous detail on the vast range of projects in which the Beatles were involved particularly on an individual basis since there break up in 1970. What comes across is the scale of their interest and versatility which ranges across what might be described as doing favours for friends to a much more fundamental imput into many recordings where there footprint is obvious. Kris has drawn on a huge range of sources to produce a definitive work and in my view the book is enhanced by an intersting range of photographs featuring a number of the artists whose work has benefited from the Beatle input - very highly recommended.

A great book about 4 great musicians and 4 great songwriters. 20 Mar 2010
By Thomas V. Contreras - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Kris Englehardt's new book, Beatles Deeper Undercover, gives Beatle fans a fascinating look into the unfettered musical lives of these four gifted musicians and songwriters.

Englehardt's passion for The Beatles flies off the pages as he delves into each studio session, live performance and songwriting collaboration. His investigative journalism is concise and his breadth of knowledge concerning the history of British and American Pop, Rock, Blues and Jazz is outstanding.

After reading this book I am amazed as to how these four musicians from Liverpool, who literally changed the world, found the time to jam and collaborate with such a diverse cast of singers, musicians and songwriters.

Thanks Kris - for another great book.

Brilliant. Massive. 31 Mar 2010
By Howie Edelson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
A brilliant job, a massive undertaking. There are so few books regarding the Beatles that literally start on the 7th floor, bypassing the mandatory lobby summations of Hamburg, Martin's Goon Show experiences, Epstein's sexuality, Shea, etc... Kristofer once again packs an insane amount of detail in for the reader while managing to keep all this uncharted territory fascinating for the novice and connoisseur alike.

Books like this are the future of Rock writing. The 400 page biography adds so little in 2010 that it's the specific, the "niche" collections that further thought, discussion -- and ultimately -- history. I recommend this book to anyone who's hip enough to realize that the Beatles didn't "end" with the finale of 'Abbey Road.'

FINALLY AN UP TO DATE BEATLES REFERENCE BOOK! 14 April 2010
By Ross Myers - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I have just finished reading Kristofer Engelhardt's new book. I loved it. Not only is it interesting but it is a great reference book. It's a bit more compact, easy to follow and Kris has still managed to include a good collection of photos.I can recommend this book for the novice & serious Beatles collector alike. I often wondered what John, Paul, George & Ringo did in their spare time. It's all here!
