Product Description

Each gold Egyptian Canopic jar is made from resin and has been finished in golds reds and blues colours typically associated with Egyptian imagery.Canopic jars were used in the mummification process.  The removed body parts were cleaned and mummified then placed into four special jars called canopic jars. Each canopic jar had a lid with the head of a god. Imsety (a male headed god) guarded the liver. Qebehsenuef (a falcon-headed god) held the intestines. Hapy (a baboon-headed god) looked after the lungs and Duamutef (a jackal-headed god) guarded the stomach. The heart remained in the body as it was believed to be important in a ceremony that took place in the afterlife. Each jar is priced individually however this item can only be purchased in multiples of 4.The jars come packaged 4 in a box one of each designs. Please note when this item is low in stock not all designs may be available. Only one of 4 jars will be despatched at random

These 4 jars are exactly as advertised.

Also did you know the 4 jars depict:
The four deities - Imsety, human headed protector of the liver, Hapy, baboon headed protector of the lungs, Duamutef, jackal headed protector of the stomach and Qebehsenuef, falcon headed protector of the intestines

So they are historically accurate (although I cant comment on the hieroglyphs as I cant read them !)
really nice product for the price (remember they are not large)

I will display mine, but with removable lids you can put stuff in them,
recommended.

Bought this product on the basis that from the description and the reviews from so-called buyers, that this would be a full-set of canopic jars. Not just one!
If it was only one for the price, this should not only be stated in the description, but also give the option as to which one you want. As if I now want to complete the set, I have to gamble that the next one I buy is not the same as the first!
Also, doesn't really make sense to sell in singles, as by the very nature of canopic jars, there has to be a set of 4 otherwise it is just a fancy jar!
Not best pleased, as I now have to re-search the internet looking for the ones I do not have!
Good way of making people buy in singles and make extra money, but doesn't make any sense if you want a complete set ... which is what they are for!
Rant over.

Very nice set of egyptian Canopic jars bought as a gift for my son. Each one is lovely in it's detail and very golden! I would recommend this as a gift for lovers of all things egyptian, especially as it is so difficult to find anything egyptian on the highstreet.

I bought these as I'm fascinated with Egyptian history. Now I've got them, I'm not really sure what to do with them, they're not big enough to put anything in , so they have sat on my office desk top since I had them. Undoubtedly my own fault, but really can't find a thing to do with them.
Perhaps they are just ornaments, and I didn't realise

Not exactly good value for money 😕 I thought I would've got at least 2 but the ear of the one I got
Broke off the same day I got it. If you're careful with it it should be fine. And it is small but realistic. But really small. Overall okay I suppose.
