Product Description

Dahon History In 1982 Dr. Hon introduced the first Dahon folding bicycle to worldwide acclaim. At design competitions around the world, the first Dahon folding bicycle proceeded to win award after award. Full of optimism, Dr. Hon visited major bicycle manufacturers around the world, hoping to find a company to either license his design or build the bike for him. But not surprisingly, none of big companies were interested in his revolutionary new idea. Undaunted and committed to his vision of environmentally-sustainable transportation, Dr. Hon decided to risk everything and build the bike himself. He quit his job, gathered $3 million dollars in venture funding, re-located to Taiwan, and built a factory. By 1983, Dahon folding bicycles were rolling off the assembly line. Today, over two million bicycles later, we can proudly say that Dahon has made a difference. From San Francisco to Amsterdam to Rio de Janeiro to Tokyo, people are using our bicycles to get from point A to point B. Governments are integrating portable folding bicycles into their plans for mass transportation. And every one of those big bicycle companies that Dr. Hon visited 25 years ago have now jumped on the folding bike bandwagon. Dahon Espresso Folding Mountain Bike 21 Speed The Espresso D21 rides full-size and folds like a shot - in just 15 seconds. Recently updated for a faster and more comfortable ride, the Espresso gives you all the comfort of a full-size bike, but folds up flat as a suitcase to be transported anywhere. A perfect ride in town or country! Features Leisurely upright riding position Folds in under 15 seconds Prepped for fitting mudguards and rear rack Dahon FlatPak technology enables the rider to adjust handlebar height and reach Easily fits in your boot, no car rack needed.

Ordered this bike as I wanted a full size bike that was easy to transport.

It was delivered promptly from the supplier.

I only have one issue. The front tyre seems to have a very slow leak as I have been required to pump it up every couple of days (would have given it 5 stars if this had been ok).

There was a little bit of assembly to be carried out but this was very easy.

The bike is quite light (30lbs) and looks and feels to be very sturdy.

I took it out on a 16 mile spin over the weekend and the only issue was that the saddle felt a bit hard.

Overall, this is a very good bike that fits easily into the back of my car and has all the benefits of a full size bike.

Update on the bike. Took it out for a spin today. One of the pedals started to make a loud clicking noise and eventually seized up. When I got home I found that one of the bearings felt as though it had broken up. On examining the pedals they appear to be very poor quality compared to the rest of the bike. As you use the pedals to power the bike I would have thought they would have been more sturdy / better quality. I would recommend purchasing better quality pedals for this bike.

Overall, it is still a good bike.
