I have read many theories about the year 2012 and the Mayan calendar. I have also read many theories about the 'end times'. Nothing I had read previously prepared me for the unique approach to the end of time that this author takes. We're talking parallel universes where events occur simultaneously. We're talking about aliens from another planet/universe. Or are we the aliens and are they the true reality? Lot of universe-crossing in this story but I'll admit that it draws you in sort of like the unsuspecting fly being caught in a spider's web.
If you like science fiction with a twist, if you are a fan of good vs. evil, if you like your aliens with a bit of humanity, then this book is for you.

2012: The War for Souls, explores the "Terror of the situation"
the anomalies of awareness, the mysteries of the human soul,
the wonder and horror of Death , and the psychological derangement
from contact with "The Alien Other" and multi-dimensional parallel worlds!
Thank you Whitley Strieber for the most inspiring message to reach
this earthly time-stream in this new millennium. It gives me hope that
mankind is waking up from the time-trance of organic life. And at
least some of us are reaching out for contact with the trans-temporal
conscious singularity that is our destiny.
On reading Strieber's 2012 I felt all I thought I knew, all my spiritual
knowledge, all my ego-plastic confidence in the technological world and
my place within it all, fall apart, and the void and death of unknowing,
rushed in, and I knew the proximity of the other world beyond the flesh
of this reality.
Strieber has got the message out.........in such a way that all who were
ready received a direct transmission, a call from beyond this world.
and it resonates in the depths of our being
And what Strieber is saying has a poetry and emotional meaning that
speaks both to the multi-dimensional, trans -temporal part of our being
and the dying animal part of our identity which is terrified of leaving
this earthly time-stream.
God is alive and mankind is ready to transcend the false limitations
that have caged it in the prison of History.

I enjoyed this book very much. If you have explored the various conundrums facing us at present then you will find this a pleasing break away from the facts vs fiction competition.
The plot is very immersible with some humour to boot and it didn't take me long at all to finish. A short apocalypse story without the natural disasters.
Even if it is a work of fiction, I couldn't put it on my shelf without pondering... but what if.
