5.0 out of 5 stars Plausible fiction 20 April 2011
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Verified Purchase
I enjoyed this book very much. If you have explored the various conundrums facing us at present then you will find this a pleasing break away from the facts vs fiction competition.

The plot is very immersible with some humour to boot and it didn't take me long at all to finish. A short apocalypse story without the natural disasters.

Even if it is a work of fiction, I couldn't put it on my shelf without pondering... but what if.

2012: The War for Souls, explores the "Terror of the situation"
the anomalies of awareness, the mysteries of the human soul,
the wonder and horror of Death , and the psychological derangement
from contact with "The Alien Other" and multi-dimensional parallel worlds!

Thank you Whitley Strieber for the most inspiring message to reach
this earthly time-stream in this new millennium. It gives me hope that
mankind is waking up from the time-trance of organic life. And at
least some of us are reaching out for contact with the trans-temporal
conscious singularity that is our destiny.

On reading Strieber's 2012 I felt all I thought I knew, all my spiritual
knowledge, all my ego-plastic confidence in the technological world and
my place within it all, fall apart, and the void and death of unknowing,
rushed in, and I knew the proximity of the other world beyond the flesh
of this reality.

Strieber has got the message out.........in such a way that all who were
ready received a direct transmission, a call from beyond this world.

and it resonates in the depths of our being

And what Strieber is saying has a poetry and emotional meaning that
speaks both to the multi-dimensional, trans -temporal part of our being
and the dying animal part of our identity which is terrified of leaving
this earthly time-stream.

God is alive and mankind is ready to transcend the false limitations
that have caged it in the prison of History.

I highly recommend this book. In it, you'll learn something about your soul, our planet and our future.

Or maybe it's all just fiction. You can't know unless you read it. If I were you I'd hurry up, though.

The clock's ticking.

4.0 out of 5 stars The 2012 fear 15 Nov 2009
I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
It explores the belief of trans-dimensional existence with parallel worlds / universes.
With 2012 looming ever closer the fear increases in the collective conscience.

Highly recommend this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars utter, utter drivel 10 Mar 2010

Format:Mass Market Paperback
I thought I'd give this one a go as the front said "if you liked The Stand, you'll love this!"

How misleading, im tempted to go to Trading Standards but I don't want to waste more of my life on this book.

Bloke writes story abt aliens and a 2 moon earth where Empires still reign, it goes rapidly down hill from there, cashing in on the Scientology belief in Theatons-Lizard people coming from alternate universes and harvesting humans.

The scenes jump abt for no reason, people and objects appear in situations where the author hasn't bothered to describe places properly.

The only thing that kept me going was it seemed highly original, the more I persevered the more disappointed I became.

I don't see any Dan Brown mimicking, more tediously slow story with no real clarity.
If you loved The Stand, you'll hate this, don't buy, don't read it, do something more interesting, like watch a skip rust of something...
