Product Description

Product Description

"The 2012 Moleskine Large Daily Diary" features a large black hard cover with rounded edges. It has 400 threadbound acid-free paper pages, a ribbon bookmark and an elastic closure. "The Large Daily Diary" has a new page for each day with plenty of space for notes and appointments and a monthly planner spread over 12 pages. There is an expandable inner pocket which contains an address book with 28 lined pages and laminated alphabetic labels, which can be used individually or together with the diary.

Product Description

Surely a design classic, the Moleskine notebook was originally made by a small bookbinding company in Paris. For a hundred years discerning artists, journalists, authors and travellers were able to buy these wonderful notebooks in Parisian stationers. Picasso, Van Gogh, Hemingway and Chatwin were all fans of this anonymous little black notebook. In 1986 the manufacturer of these notebooks, then based in Tours, closed down and they were no longer available until a Milanese publisher began to produce them again in 1990. Since then the range has expanded hugely but the basic concept and quality remain exactly the same. We have stocked Moleskine since 1990.

I've been using Moleskine products for years now (they're brilliant!), and this style of diary for the past three years. Not being into the bulging ring-binder type beloved of the go-getters of this world, this product is just right for me. It's pages are big enough for notes and as a result it can be used as a journal just as easily as an appointments diary, and it can fit into a fairly large coat pocket. There's enough relevant extra information at the front of it - although if you filled in all the details on the Personal Data page you'd be at risk of forgetting who you are if you lost the book; and it would be a gift for anyone intent on stealing your identity! The telephone and address book at the back would be useful for those who prefer to keep written versions; you get a new one with each year's diary, which is great for new users, but for returning customers it's a bit of a waste because you just slot in the previous year's one, and give the new one away. The one thing that I miss is a pen holder - but then I guess that's what jacket pockets were made for! Great product.

Keeps everything well organised. Helps me have a quick and full view of my daily schedule, plus previous and next days. Leaves me plenty of space to keep notes, plus some extra space for artistic doodling during the day :-) There's lots of helpful information, an extra, removable phone book at the end of the diary *and* the infamous secret pocket on the inside of the back cover. It's a "little black book" that keeps up to its fame and legend.

Diary 12 Sep 2010
Format:Calendar
This is a very good diary which I have been using consistently this year. It opens up very nicely and has a ribbon and the standard pocket at the back. This also has an address book inserted at the back where the pocket is which is very useful. The address book is very slim and doesn't allow more than around page for each set of alphabets, but is sufficient for jotting down names for transfer later. It is a shame that Moleskine don't seem to make notebooks this thick. Each page of the planner is dedicated to a day and it has the numbers marked very lightly as shown in the images for times. My major quibble is that this book does not like fountain pens. The ink does bleed and looks unsightly when you turn the page over. Overall, very nice diary.

Great with only one small problem.
Over all I am extremely happy with this product, compact and well made. The only slight criticism I would voice is the fact that one can not use fountain pens with this diary, the... Read more

Excellent Diary
Good diary, hard cover and lovely Moleskine's design. The only objection is the small thickness of the paper: if you are writing with ink, probably you will mark the reverse page.

Top quality diary
Top quality product, as expected from Moleskine editions. Robust but also compact, easy to carry. Seem that it will be used over and over the next year, like the previous one.
