Product Description

Product Description

Internationally acclaimed as a Surrealist artist, Joan Miro was known to express contempt for conventional painting methods and created vivid yet childlike works. This full color wall calendar presents 12 such paintings, demonstrating each month why Miro's style has been described as a sandbox for the subconscious mind. This calendar for 2012 will delight all art lovers who appreciate the finer details of Abstract and Surrealistic art forms.

Sunday is on the wrong side of the week 2 Jan 2012
By DaliDrama - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Calendar|Amazon Verified Purchase
In 2011 I used the Kandinsky calendar by the same company, so I didn't think twice before ordering a 2012 of the same publisher but replacing it with a new artist. Everything is great...except that the SUNDAY is on the right side of the calendar, next to Saturday. This is a major blow since calendars are visual and a means to map out the future, which can create serious problems when the structure is completely wrong. Now, I realize that as an American it's how we do it and other parts of the world do it differently. I just wish the images or description let me know this before purchasing.

If you don't mind the Sunday location, buy this now - otherwise it's a waste of a purchase.
Enjoy a Year with Miró 5 Jan 2012
By Eager Reader - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Calendar|Amazon Verified Purchase
For me, a wall calendar orients me to the coming days and provides moments of refreshment through its art. This is a standard sized calendar with a page per month. The columns of days begin with Monday (in European style). Religious and secular holidays are noted. (Don't miss Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee on June 5th.) There is space each month for a few notes. Even more importantly than the mechanics of time-telling, Miró's art shines happily off the pages. The colors are bright. The title and source of each painting is noted. This calendar will help you enjoy 2012 with Miró.
