Product Description

Product Description

In this, his first book, Adrian Swales sheds light on how he made a substantial living from buying and selling on eBay in a niche market that's often overlooked. Adrian started his business with virtually no finances. In fact, his successful business was started with little more than $300. This book explains how he managed to turn his initial investment into a huge revenue stream that made him at least $3,000 profit every week. Within days of applying his knowledge to his business, it was evident that his eBay shop was going to be a magnificent success. Not only does Adrian detail the strategies he used, but he tells you the exact products and niches he used, giving you a clear example of how he applied his knowledge.

All aspects of running an eBay business are explored, starting with researching your initial products and sourcing them from abroad, negotiating the best deals and building a rapport with manufacturers. This crucial information will ensure that you always have the latest, hottest products at your disposal that buyers will be chomping at the bit to buy from you. This section also covers topics on keeping in control of your budget and shows you how to 'dip your toe in the water' without stockpiling masses of products that you can't shift.

The next chapter explains exactly how to list your items on eBay. It's important to understand key words and titles, because when they're used correctly you can manipulate the market and ensure that your product is always flashed in front of the eyes of buyers desperate for your product. Taking the right picture of your product is also vital for grabbing attention. It needs to show the product perfectly, be unique and eye-catching, and if you really want to be cheeky, it needs to be a picture that doesn't affect the cost of your listing. Adrian mentions all of this and more, including how to source graphic designers who can add text and graphics to your pictures, and create professional studio-quality images for minimal costs. The item description is also a vital aspect of any eBay listing. Adrian shows you how to hone and perfect your selling techniques, such as addressing the features and benefits of your item, making the listing look appealing and easy to read, and using free web services to get your spelling and grammar perfect. Finally the most important part of your listing: selling your items at the right price!

The chapter on shipping your products explains the methods Adrian used to save time and money on fulfilling his orders. When you're shipping out thousands of items every week, you need to reduce the amount of time spent on sending your items as much as possible. Whilst eBay and PayPal offer options for printing out address labels and invoices etc, there are other examples here that can make the process a lot easier.

The "managing feedback" chapter is all about keeping your customers happy and ensuring they return time after time. Sometimes being a business person is all about going above and beyond the call of duty. People always talk more about their shopping experience than they do the price, after all! In the final chapter of this book, Adrian turns the tables around and sows you how to save money as a buyer on eBay by utilising 3rd party websites that "snipe" auctions and search for misspelt listings to allow you to snap up a bargain.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well-written and to the point 29 Jan 2012

Picked up this title, just to see what the current state of selling is on eBay (I'm a previous PowerSeller). I find this booklet to be just the right length, with just the right amount of information to set the prospective seller on the right path, without overwhelming him with too much information. I was also impressed with the high quality of the writing, plus the writer's willingness to share information about his actual successful product (seldom is a successful seller willing to share sources). It's a rare occasion when I am impressed enough with a book to actually get up from my comfy couch and go to my computer to leave a review. Hope to see more from you soon! (Author: I tried to find a contact link in your book...there's a typo in location approximately 470, and it stood out like a sore thumb because of your otherwise impeccable spelling and grammar.) Couldn't find your email address anywhere!

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Book About Making Money on Ebay 29 Jan 2012

I've waded through way too many horrible how-to-make-money books that have been thrown up on Amazon. It was wonderful to read one that's actually worth buying. 2011: My greatest success... is a well written, thorough guide for making money on ebay with products you buy at wholesale prices. Probably not something I'll ever do but I'm confident that if I wanted to this book would help me to succeed. The author has excellent advice and shares many helpful resources. No fluff, no filler - just a really good walk-through on how to start a successful ebay business. There's even a very helpful list at the end that gathers all of the websites the author has recommended throughout the book.

If you've thought about this kind of ebay selling you should buy this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fresh idea on selling on ebay 10 Oct 2012

If you read other ebay books online and find the redundancy of buy low sell high boring then this would give a new perspective of the well known business model of buying low and sell high. I enjoyed this book and the clear example of how he did it. This author also adds the current market in mind and the after effects of eventually your own market being too saturated.
