Product Description

Asking the right questions can help job seekers ace the interview and land that job The most critical question job interviewers ask is often the last one. That's when they lean forward and say, "Do you have any questions?" As author John Kador points out, that's the applicants' moment to shine, to demonstrate that they have done their homework and that they're good fit with the organization. Most of all, it provides an applicant with an opportunity to ask for the job. A powerful resource for vast and growing numbers of job seekers, this book fills readers in on the pivotal questions they need to ask to ace the interview. With chapters organized around major themes, such as "the company," "the job," and "the community," 201 Best Questions to Ask on Your Interview not only supplies readers with the right questions for virtually every context but also coaches them on the right ways to ask them.

Excellent book. Clearly written for the US market, but much (though not all) of the content is applicable to UK job interviews. Very useful to stimulate other questions and to give you a bunch of fall back questions if you're inclined to panic in interviews. A useful book to read alongside others - highly recommend "Brilliant CV", "Brilliant Interview" (2 v good examples of the many CV and interview books) and "How to Handle Your Recruitment Consultant" (only book I've found covering this area - and extremely useful - also happy to say it's written specifically for the UK market).

I've read this book to help me through the ackward passage of job interviews. It has very valuable help although the slant is too American and too sales-job oriented many of the questions can be adapted when applying to lower-end non-managerial positions.

Loads of good advice, but if used to excess could be too 'American' or aggressive for many vacancies.
One question missing is:
'I loath being taken advantage of or bullied - how can you assure me that you won't be asking me to "Go the Extra Mile" without paid overtime?' - but perhaps that what good research and/or tribunals are for!
