I bought a couple of these a from Solwise (the ones with the partial black cover) and a few weeks later decided to add a third one to the network.
The third one was a different design with an all white cover. The two black ones work fine, but the newer version is fraught with problems
It initially connected OK but after a day the connection dropped and would not reconnect, even when placed in the socket next to the other. I have some experience in this field and have to say that on contacting Solwise support, it was not very good and pretty condascending.
I returned it any but Solwise say that they could not find a fault (convenient as they say they will not refund the delivery expense if they cannot find a fault)
After a considerable wait a second one arrived with exactly the same problems, sometimes it would connect, other times no matter what you tried it would not connect to the network.
I have returned this one as it just does not work with the other Solwise homeplugs. I suspect that there is an IP addressing issue on the newer plugs. If you look at their forum others are having issues also.
Solwise are bit sharp too, they conveiently say that they cannot find a fault so the refund issued is minus the original delivery charge and the 2 recorded delivery charges incurred to send them both back (about £14 in total)
I eventually bought a Devolo homeplug that has worked flawlessy with same setup (conecting to the Solwise homeplugs with the partial black cover). They are much better quality and very relaible.
