Book Description

1 Jan 2000
A year 2000 computer glitch got her $1 million and a cowboy--and the wildest adventure of her life . . .

P.R. whiz Tess O'Mara is burned out. She's looking for a change. Something wild and crazy. The year 2000 has arrived. And that's when the trouble begins. A computer glitch has deposited one million dollars into her bank account. Problem is, it's somebody else's money, somebody who's willing to kill to find it--and Tess has already spent a big chunk of it on a new wardrobe and a powder-blue Mercedes convertible. Suddenly Tess is running for her life, as fast and as far as she can go . . .

. . . until she reaches the sleepy desert town of Almost, Arizona. Sheriff Jake McCall, a dead ringer for Mel Gibson, is there to catch her as she careens into town and collapses from heatstroke in his arms. Jake's prepared for anything--except the spoiled city slicker with trouble in her wake. The last thing he expects is to fall for her. But as danger tracks Tess to her door, something unexpected happens that will transform two very different people, and one dusty, dead-end town, forever . . .

3.0 out of 5 stars Almost but not quite 14 Aug 2001
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Yes, 2000 Kisses is good fun. Let down a bit by its saccharine title, this book is'nt as fluffy as you might initially think. I laughed out loud on serveral occations, not least when Tess, would be millionaire, manages to spend an inordinate amount of money in just one day. Mostly on clothes (normal behaviour I would think)and gets to do that 'Pretty Woman' thing, with her credit card winning respect from distainful shop assistants(every womans dream). It's almost a really good book but it's not because it goes the easy way instead of spending a little more time developing suspence or avoiding cliches. The snappy and entertaining story of ordinary folk in sundrenched Almost, Arizona, faced with a newcomer/city slicker, is complicated by a most irritating sub-plot of mystic nonsense that manages to be both confusing and unnecessary. And a potentially knockout hero falls short of being just that because he's one dimensional and flawless. Still dispite Spanish housemaids telling people to stay out of her kitchen in broken english, mysterious indian scouts appearing in thunderstorms to mutter wise ancetral words, and a monstrously improbably plot, this still somehow manages to be an enjoyable read with some good one liners and enough romance to keep you turning the pages.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best authors in romance 12 Dec 1999
By Harriet Klausner - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
On December 31, 1999, in Boston harbor, public relations specialist Tess O'Mara hosts a shipboard party that she has planned, dreamed, and is now executing for the past two years. For the next six-months, guests will sail on a luxurious cruise to celebrate the new millennium. Her boss promises Tess a large bonus. Since he is rich and willing to spend money, Tess expects a generous bonus.

On New Year's Day 2000, Tess checks to see if the expected reward has made it into her bank account. The ATM informs her she has $1,000,000 in her account. Tess is a bit surprised, but since she successfully pulled off the opening Millennium event that will bring in millions to the business, she believes it might be hers.

After spending a large sum of money, Tess calls her brother a T-man who tells her to leave town immediately. He thinks a Y2K glitch has deposited illegal money in her account. She goes to the safety of Almost, Arizona where his friend T.J. McCall is sheriff. The two opposites feel the immediate attraction and begin to fall in love, but must contend with the money launderers who have traced Tess to Arizona. Even if they live, they know she belongs in Boston while he belongs in Almost.

2000 KISSES centers on a Y2K financial glitch that leads readers to a taut romantic suspense. The fast-paced story line contains humorous elements mostly provided by the secondary cast who want the charming lead couple to remain together. Indian mysticism adds a bit of local flavor to the mix. With exciting novels like 2000 KISSES, the sky's the limit for the incomparable Christina Skye.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW - What a page turner! 4 Jan 2000
By Janet - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
First book of Ms. Skye's that I had the pleasure to read -- Very timely story with Y2K just happening! Tess is a very successful ad-exec who finds $1M mysteriously deposited into her bank account on 1/1/2000. After a spirited spending spree (she ends up with a baby blue Mercedes Convertable! ), Tess finds out that she's spent someone's money; that someone being a very dangerous group money launderers etc... She has to run for her life, at her brother's recommendation to a little town, Almost Arizona. She ends up with a Cowboy/Sherriff that is Mel Gibson's lookalike (WOW If I could have that kind of luck!).

She finds that she's spiritually drawn to the town through American Indian mysticism & ancient spirits that beckon to her.

Its a really cool story - very imaginitive. TJ McCall is one very sexy man! I read the book in 2 days; couldn't put it down.

Ms. Skye has given readers a rare treat with her new book 2000 Kisses. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fast-paced, thoroughly entertaining read. Pour yourself a glass of bubbly, kick back and bring the millenium in in style, as Ms. Skye has done with her new book.
