2.0 out of 5 stars Isn't that cheating????, 10 Mar 2006
I must admit to being a bit dissapointed with this book - it came in the post, I unwrapped it, I opened the cover to the list of all the squares - it started out well, but after about 50 squares the author cops out and just duplicated each one five times or so in five different colours or variations. This was a real let down - I realise that it must be difficult to think of 50 squares, but I'm sure given a stitch dictionary and a couple of hours most of us could come up with some better ideas than having the last half being a case of "no51 - cable stitch square in red and blue, no52-cable stitch square in green and white" etc, etc. If you are looking for a Blanket or Afghan book either buy a stitch dictionary and do the work yourself, or go look under Debbie Abrahams!

5.0 out of 5 stars Moving away from scarves!, 14 Feb 2006
By A Customer
This book has inspired me to start knitting something other than scarves in fancy wool[what an addiction!] the clear easy to follow instructions are excellent for even the most fearful novice knitter. The ideas are both classical and contemporary and suggest how you can design your own banket. All the squares are 6inches when knitted on size 8mm needles and double knitting wool. Time to climb into the loft or drag out all those carrier bags from behind the sofa and get knitting. ENJOY!

2.0 out of 5 stars 200 Knitted Blocks, 25 May 2009
By P. Hill (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
When I bought this book I was anticipating 200 different knitted block patterns. This was not the case. Many of the blocks are variations on a theme e.g. colourways, so that was disappointing. However, in its favour there is a very good section at the start on design and use of the blocks and several very good examples of throws or blankets knitted from combinaions of block patterns.
