Canopy Coverage

2 Years of Drops and Spills Coverage (ADH) & Theft Coverage for your Kindle
We all know accidents happen. With the 2 Year Plan that includes coverage for drops, spills and cracked screens (ADH), along with theft cover for your Kindle, your product is protected from the date of shipment in the event it breaks or is stolen.*

For example:
  • It is knocked off a nightstand
  • You spill water on it
  • It is stolen

Advance Exchange:

Broken Devices: Canopy will ship a replacement Kindle to you (your replacement will be a same model Kindle that has been refurbished to manufacturer’s standards). You will also receive a pre-paid shipping label to send back the damaged Kindle to the depot. A valid credit card is required on file to process an advance exchange. If you don't return the damaged Kindle within 30 days, you will be charged the price of the replacement device, not to exceed the original purchase price.*

Stolen Devices: If your device is stolen, you should notify the police in the country it was stolen within 48 hours (or as soon as reasonably possible, if it is not possible to do so within 48 hours) and obtain a police crime reference number. When you call to file your claim, we will first verify this crime reference number, and then we will ship the replacement device.

What To Expect After Purchase

Upon plan purchase, you will get an email containing your Certificate of Insurance along with your terms and conditions. This is your official confirmation of your purchase. We will also send you a welcome letter and a paper copy of your terms and conditions via mail, the combination of which is your insurance policy.

For device preorders, your plan starts the date your product ships from Amazon and we will mail your insurance policy after your Kindle ships.

For Kindles purchased on Amazon.co.uk
Your protection plan lasts 2 years from the date your Kindle ships. The Term of this plan will be extended by an additional two (2) weeks to allow for product delivery.

For Kindles purchased at an authorized retailer other than Amazon.co.uk
Your protection plan lasts 2 years from the date you purchased your Canopy Protection Plan.

Service appalling, tried to say my dropped and cracked Fire was fixed by switching off and on! Said I had no cover for accidental damage! Said was out of warranty when insurance purchased less than 6 months ago! Then asked me who I thought the insurance was with!!! On phone for an hour, constantly put on hold, at one point half way through my sentence! Kept saying I need to do research here at my end. Not a clue what they are doing. Also kept referring to my 'phone' despite being told a dozen times it is a kindle. Eventually after an hour of this she informed me that 'now I am always knowing that you have an extended warranty' she can transfer me to the correct dept! Cue another 10 minutes on hold. Then a much simpler conversation, an apology and a replacement on its way! Forming an association with a company like this must surely be bad for Amazon.

This is a disappointing insurance - I thought it would be like the Square Trade cover on my previous Kindle but it only covers accidents and theft so it is very expnsive for no cover of the most likely problem. Not worht taking out this kind of insurance what one needs is a cover that will deal with all eventualities and replace immediatle a Kindle that is not working or stolen. I could have got this limited cover at a third of the price from my appliance insurer

havnt had a claim yet so not really much to say except it came in my name(the buyer) but the product was for my wife. rang customer services and they told me it didnt matter whos name is on it, its the device thats covered so nothing needs to be changed.
