Keep on pushin' 1 Aug 2004
By V. Ryan
Format:Audio CD
There are so many rnb/soul albums out there that I have heard that it is hard to find ones which stand out.
Calvin Richardson gives us a set which has its moments, but offers nothing in the way of something fresh.

Still, there are tracks on here to give a good listen to. The first single and first track "Keep on Pushin" is a real soulful swinger, and immediatly we can hear what a soulful voice Calvin posesses.
"More than a Woman" i had heard before on Angie Stones second album Mahogany Soul. This time instead of a duet its just Calvin.

Other killer tracks are "Not Like This" and "Put my money on you".
The best track without a doubt is the collaboration with detroit hip hop group Slum Village on "You got me High". This is a track which if promoted would have been the one to really get him into the mainstream.

Overall, "2.35pm" is a nice album with some good soul music.
But nothing new.

A Must Have! 19 Jan 2004
Format:Audio CD
In a market that has an endless number of male R'n B artists to choose from there are only a few of real quality that stand above others. This album is 1 of them! A great mix of different tempos and high qualtiy vocals throughout. This man has a great vocal & knows how to use it. If you are a fan of artists like Joe and Tyresse then this is a must. If you enjoyed the latest offering from Tyresse then you will love this. A must for any true fan of this type of music.

If you like Calvin Richardson this is a must have for your collection, nice smooth grooves reminds me of music from the 60's and 70's.This would sit alongside Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield or Al Green.
