The Best Of Europe! 18 Jan 2005
Format:Audio CD
Europe isn't the most famous of bands, but they are certainly a very good rock band. Most people will have heard of them through their most famous song, 'Final Countdown' and will go out and buy one of their CD's after listening to it, because it is so good. I'd recommend this CD for those people, because this is the best Europe CD available for under £10 and does feature most of their best songs.
Tracks 1-3 and 5 are Hard Rock songs, and they are all of a high standard, I espeicially like 'Scream of Anger' which features a great guitar riff.
This CD features 4 songs from their most succesful album, 'Final Countdown' (Tracks 7,9-11) and also features a rare B-Side from it, all of these songs are excellent.
The rest of the album has a few bad songs unfortunately especially, 'Yesterday's News.'
However 'Prisoners from Paradise' is a nice ballad, and keeps the album going nicely.
The very last song, is a remix of 'Final Countdown' and if you like dance music then you might appreciate it more than I did.
Overall, 1982-2000 is a great collection of Europe's songs, and if you're only wanting to spend between £5-£10 on a Europe CD then this is the collection to buy.

It is just a sad thing that such a Gloriuos Band of the 80's cease to exist. "Europe" is one of the best rock groups of the 80's and this compilation is the big proog on that. Tracks such as "The Final Count Down" and "Superstitious" prove that Rock can be mixed with Pop for a larger Audience. As for the Super Ballad "Carrie" it is one of these ballads that live on although the bnd is not their. Their atempt to Remix "The Final Countdown" for the year 2000 did suceed and it was a nice try to enhanace their music into the new millenium. This best of collection is a must for every Musc Lover

Europe seem to be the forgotten rock band of the eighties and bar the 'Final Countdown' remix, this is exactly the same record as '1982-1992' released in 1993.
It is a collection of most of the best tracks and is a very good value introduction.
It includes two or three early hits which are pretty awful, but the others are superb, clean, hard rock- a cut above much of eighties rock.
A remix of 'The Final Countdown' could have been an amazing new hit, but is in fact a lazy, unimaginative and virtually unrecognisable waste of time.
Regardless, this CD is very much worth buying.
