About the Author
Marnie Fogg is a media consultant on all aspects of the fashion industry. She is currently lecturing in Visual Studies and the Culture of Fashion at the University of Nottingham, and has a Master's Degree in Art and Design Advanced Practice and Theory. She is the author of Boutique: A 60s Cultural Phenomenon, published by Mitchell Beazley, and Print in Fashion, published by Batsford (ISBN 9780713490121). She lives in Duffield, Derbyshire.

I always look out for books by Marnie Fogg as I love her style of writing and the subjects she covers. You can always rely on her to give an original insight into whatever subject she's writing about. This book is a brilliant primer for studying the 80s - from the really 'out there' designs the decade was famous for, to the more wearable classic designs you can see in Topshop right now! In fact, given fashion's obsession with everything 80s at the moment I can't think of a better book to study for inspiration!

This 1980's Fashion Print book hosts hundreds of delicious images and tantalizing illustrations perfectly fitting to the eccentric,wild and wonderful era that was the eighties.
Fogg's extensive knowledge and wonderful use of language will leave you excitedly leafing through each section of the book.From "Neon Blitz" exploring the bold,diverse and punk alternative excitement of the eighties to the "Radical classical"extremely beautiful mythological influenced designs from artists such as Fowler.
Fogg shares her most sumptuous secrets from her knowledge as a respected fashion expert and media consultant to her wonderful knack of finding hidden unseen imagery that sets this book miles apart from the shallowly written and cloned fashion books of today.
Fogg's books sit upon the end of my desk as a designer they are fantastic from lino cuts,screen prints,line drawing,inks and extensive textile prints Fogg will never fail to inspire me.
Whether you are an enthusiast,designer or simply curious this book is one that you will keep forever.
