In the centenary final, a single goal took the cup to Leeds, at last breaking the Cup Final jinx that had forced them into being runners-up on numerous occasions.

For some Football fans, their particular allegiance can bring more pain than gain. This is particularly true in the case of Leeds United supporters, who are used to far more of the former than the latter.

But the latter does come along very very occasionally. Never more so than in 1972, when Leeds United reached the FA cup final for the third time, and went on to win it, beating Arsenal 1-0. And Jack Charlton finally got to add an FA cup winners medals to his collection.

This dvd contains the entire game. With the ITV commentary. The original VHS release had the BBC commentary on it.

Neutrals will find this a fairly average and forgettable match. Leeds fans won't care.

The picture quality is nothing special but it's perfectly watchable.

The dvd has no subtitles and no languages other than English.

It does offer a couple of extras. A list of the games that got Leeds to the final. You might hope for footage from these but it's nothing more than a written record of the dates, opposition and scores [and it shows that Leeds actually haven't always been totally incapable of beating Cardiff City].

There's also two very short sections of the Leeds players being interviewed by an ITV reporter not that long after the final whistle. These bits runs for no more than a couple of minutes each.

The star rating for this product depends entirely on your football allegiance. Thus for Leeds fans it's a perfect dvd record of one of those rare days when it went right and well worth five stars.

This was the first FA Cup Final I ever watched and as a Leeds Fan it was one of the happiest days of my childhood. Ok the picture quality on the DVD was not up to that of todays blue ray, however is somehow added to the experince for me. Sadly I diont think I will live long enough to see Leeds win it again.

I can't believe it is so long since the greatest team of all time last won the FA cup. It's great to relive that wonderful MAy day back in 1972. Shame the copy I received from Marketplace was such rubbish quality. Had to send it back. HAve ordered it again from a more reputable source!
