When I noticed that there weren't any reviews on this album of Charlie's I was saddened. I thought to myself, "How can this be?". I am not a music critic and I don't write reviews normally but I felt compelled to say something this time.
Charlie Parr is, in my opinion, a national treasure. I thought about my calling him a "national treasure" and I came across at least part of the answer to why there aren't any reviews written on this album yet. It seems to me that when (we humans) have something of value that we "treasure" we go out of our way to hide it, to protect it, to preserve it. Well this national treasure we have here in the person of Charlie Parr is so valuable that, unfortunatly, he gets overlooked sometimes.
I am here to ask you fine folks out there to do yourselves a favor and give this album a listen and then if you are as blown away by it as I am, get it and show that treasure to the world. Some treasures are meant to be shared, and this my friends, is one such treasure. Charlie's Folk/Blues contribution to the world is as good as most and better than the rest of his peers.
Now go out there and join me in singing this good man's praises. Thank you
