I bought this book as an update to my existing copy so that the references to the tables in the big green bumper fun book BS7671 would be up to date. I was studying for the C&G 2396 electrical design exam.
Scaddan writes in plain English and his books are always useful. He can teach with the written word. It was worth replacing with an up to date copy.
But, there are some typos in formulae such as Ib being shown as In and In being shown instead of It.
As such, at the moment there are small sections of this book which will confuse the reader who is learning design for the first time or using the book as home study prior to a course. In fairness, I emailed my queries to Scaddan and received a reply within a day.
Shame, it's a fabulous book. Technical books are not well proof read these days. It is still worth buying but watch out for the errors which could throw you into self-doubt.
