This connector kit came quickly from swees-shop. It seemed well-built, and fitted easily but firmly into my iPad2.
The first SD card I inserted contained many photos in its DSIM folder, but only one of them was visible on the iPad. After transferring that photo, the iPad reported that the device was "not supported", and has done so on every occasion I've tried since, and with every card.
My guess is that Apple has made changes to the interface in IOS5, and the maker of this device hasn't made the necessary adjustment (clearly Apple will have followed its obligations under EU law to publish interface specifications or to provide them within 2 weeks on request). It was sold as suitable for all models of iPad, but of course the iPad2 came out before IOS5.
So my advice would be not to buy this device for a recent iPad until the specification makes clear it has been updated to work with the latest model and operating system.

The reason I bought iPad2 is for viewing photo from camera on the spot. Previously I used netbook laptop but screen was too small. iPad2 is perfect to view the photo and carrying around. All I need to do is plug this connection kit to iPad2, put in SD card, import selected photo into iPad2, then I can view, zoom in and out. Due to iPad2 slim design, the connector is just slightly sit in the iPad2 slot, may come loose easily if you touch the connector. Overall I am happy with this product as it solved the problem for iPad2 not having SD card slot.

The USB port was so poorly constructed that I couldn't actually connect a USB device to it. The iPad side of the connector was unbelievably tight, it felt like it was going to damage the iPad, but that was probably just my imagination. Either way, it should have clicked into place like a real apple connector.
I sent it straight back for a refund and emailed photos of the shoddy build to Amazon.

Plenty of complications
The connection is a poor fit. Also ipad2 says it does not support this equipment. Basically it doesn't work with some cards and some cameras. Read more

Connection Kit for iPad
I was very pleased with my purchase until upgrading my iPad 1 to iOS5. After that, all I got was an error message saying' Product not Supported'. Not very satisfactory!

instructions not great but it works
Photo's and video's need to be in DCIM folder as stated in the instructions but filenames should be 8 letters/digits long with file extension 3 letters/digits long. Read more
